NLL/NBA/NHL

Big day in sports.

(In order of importance)

The NLL

The NLL and CBS announce a broadcast partnership that will showcase indoor box-lacrosse on CBS for the upcoming 2012 and 2013 season.

CBS are living the NLL a shot for two years. The NLL is made for TV sport. But many people don’t understand the game.

Lacrosse is easy. It’s a hybrid between basketball and hockey.

Like hockey there are big goalies, 5 players, lots of contact and in lacrosse there is more scoring.

Like basketball, there is a shot clock, the pick and roll and give and goes. But in lacrosse there is not 3 seconds in the key, instead you can cross check your opponent.

The NBA

Players have voted down the latest 50/50 offer from the owners. Who knows what will go down? Apparently the players union may dismantle. I don’t think we’ll have a season.

There will probably be players going overseas to play and I’m sure this is going to end up in court.

The NHL

Milan Lucic hit goaltender Ryan Miller outside of the crease and will not receive any further punishment from the 2-minute for charging he receive.

Buffalo is saying Miller has a concussion. Who knows how long he will be out of the line-up.

Miller was well outside of his crease when Lucic ran him over. But Lucic didn’t attack the head, he hit him shoulder to shoulder.

By rule, Goalie’s are not fair game, even if they leave the net.

However Goalies are limited to where they can touch the puck. They can no longer chase a puck into the corner and play the zone like a defencemen who can’t be hit.

So Miller leaves the crease to play the puck in the trolly tracks and he is leveled.

Should Lucic of been suspended? I say so, you can't hit the goalie and he drilled him.

I give Lucic a one game suspension for giving him da’business.
