NHL Awards

What a year for Peterborough's Corey Perry

Before we get to the awards, lets go back. For Perry it began with winning the Olympic Men's Gold Medal in Men's Ice Hockey. Then came his selection to the NHL All-star team and then last night he was awarded the Hart Trophy as the NHL's Most Valuable Player and he also took home the "Rocket" Richard Trophy as the NHL's top goal scorer with 50 goals this season.

Other winners:

Daniel Sedin won the Art Ross Trophy for leading the league in points with 104pts - 43gs, 61as

Nic Lidstrom was recognized as the league top defencemen winning his 7th Norris Trophy.

Tim Thomas capped off a brilliant season winning the Vezina trophy as the NHL's most outstanding goaltender. This is his second time winning the Vezina in 3 years.

Ryan Kessler won the Selke trophy as the best defensive forward in the league.

Carolina's Jeff Skinner won the Calder Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year.

Martin St. Louis won the Lady Byng Trophy as the "Most Sportsman Like" player.

The Awards show was hosted by Jay Moher a stand up comedian and former actor on Saturday Night Live
