Live from Detroit - NHL Playoffs
The Red Wings have come from behind erasing a 3-0 deficit and tie the series 3-3 forcing a game 7 in San Jose thursday May 12th
Will the Red Wings find away to win 4 straight? Or will there be a home field have advantage...
The Red Wings fans were loud and proud tonight. What a showing from the Detroit faithful. Game 6 could rank as one of the best games of the playoffs. It had it all, a few punches, some solid goaltending and back and forth, good physical hockey.
The score remained at zeros after 2 periods of play.
In the 3rd San Jose got the scoring going, it was Couture putting one past McDonald. Detroit didn't falter, and they never quit, no matter the score the were outplaying the Sharks and they kept the pressure going. Kronwall blasted one from the point and Zetterberg redirected the puck to tie the game. Detroit would score again as Datsyuk sent a pass across the crease to Fillipula who potted the would be game winner. Helm scored on the empty net to make it a 3-1 win.
Although the red wings got behind 1 early in the 3rd, they never stopped. They outshot San Jose 44-25. Datsyuk played a strong game and Cleary had a few chances, he barely missed a breakaway chance, having Niemi beat on a breakway, he had an open net and banged the puck off the post. Holmstrom had a chance cutting thru the middle, he took a wrist shot and went head over heel's-360, as a Sharks defencemen slid and took the feet from underneath .
The Sharks were missing Ryan Clowe, he missed the game with an undisclosed injury (Possible the result of a Krnowall hit at the end of game 5 - he left that game)
Franzen was out for game 6 but Detroit has the momentum.
